Sac City, IA

We made one final tourist pit stop before visiting Andrew’s grandmother’s hometown and then heading back home ourselves. I had recently read about the World’s Largest Popcorn Ball and noticed it wouldn’t take much to make a quick stop to see it.

We came into Sac City from the north. Our GPS led us to an area that most definitely did not have the World’s Largest Popcorn Ball, so we drove back out to the main street, and boom! There is was.

Honestly, the whole thing looks pretty disgusting to me. That’s way too much popcorn in one area. I also was disappointed that it wasn’t perfectly round, but it was ok for a quick pit stop.

Sac City also has a little memorial park for Veterans on the outskirts of town. The have a Freedom Rock that they paint differently every year. Again, nice to see but I wouldn’t go out of my way to see it again.
