One of our last stops in our 45 day trip (and the last touristy stop) was to St. Croix Falls. St. Croix Falls sits on the Wisconsin side of the St. Croix River and is the location of the headquarters and visitor center for St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. This is one of two National Park sites located in Wisconsin. The Visitor Center has a nice display showing the plant and animal life that can be found along the riverway and even some fish to check out in an aquarium. They have a walkway down to the river. The night before we arrived, many areas of the St. Croix River reached flood level so the water was super high.
You can’t technically see the “falls” of St. Croix Falls anymore, but there is still somewhat of a waterfall located by the Dam just south of the Visitor Center. They have a nice park area in the downtown that overlooks the area and if we stood at the right angle, we got a beautiful rainbow view!
Well, that concludes our 45 day Northern Tour blog posts….stay tuned for more as the summer goes on and we begin our 13 day Southern Tour!
